RG Freedom - WIP

This is my RG Freedom, as you can see it's almost done, just waiting on the wings to finish flat coat and assembly.  Should have it completed by next weekend, look for more pics then!

MG Tallgeese EW: WIP Part 1

Starting the MG Tallgeese ver. EW!  As you may know the EW version of the Tallgeese changes the color scheme slightly, focusing more on a white overall look and removing a lot of the dark grey from the TV version while adding some yellow.  I'm going for a modified version of this look adding in even more yellow and putting in some of the dark grey found on the TV version.  Got the first round of painting done last night, here's some pics of what's been done so far.

Revival...again.

Ok, so it's been awhile since I've posted here, or really done much in the ways of Gunpla period it seems.  The last post I made about projects was for my PG 00 Raiser, well I finished that model (the Gundam itself, haven't done the 0 Raiser and won't for some time) and it was pretty good but I was disappointed with certain aspects and gimmicks of the kit, but I'll do more on that later.

Mostly, since then, I've assembled my MG Epyon Gundam, and I'm currently in the process of flat coating the model with Alclad II Flat, a new airbrush top coat I heard about and am so far really fond of.  That model should be done in the next week and I'll try to get a review up of my thoughts on the kit.  In the meantime I've also assemble my first Real Grade, the RG Freedom Gundam.  Good kit, amazing detail and everything for being 1/144, I realize I'm a couple years behind on the RG line, but I thought the Freedom was a good first one to go with.  I also dug out and flat coated my old RX-78-2 MG, the first MG btw, 1995!  I'll post pictures of that kit soon with my thoughts on it's...innovation of it's time, yeah that's a good way to spin it.

Ok that's about it for this post, announcing a revival of my favorite hobby, Gunpla!  One more thing before I go, this will be coming soon in the pipeline, once I clear out my current floating projects...

2013 Flea Con...(Local hobby show I can't remember the actual name)

Hello, so this past Saturday was Flesh Con 2013 (don't think that's really what its called, but it was Fle-somthing).  It's a local hobby show that one of our stores in town sponsors.  Anyways after a couple years being told I should go, I finally got the chance to go check it out. So along with a couple of friends we went, not expecting to see much Gunpla if at all and well....we were right.  Not surprisingly it was mostly aircraft and automobile models, however there were 2 Gunpla on display, Both HG 1/144 models, the RX-79(G) Ground Gundam and the Golf Custom, both from 08th MS Team.  Pretty good models and this has led me to the decision that I will enter next year for sure.  I had planned to this year but MG Epyon didn't get done in time, alas.  So, next year gonna bring some Gunpla exposure to the local community, can't wait!

Project SEED Universe

Wow been a while, ok well, its been a crazy past 6 months to say the least.  Finished …PG 00, have to put pics up later, ended up stopping with the mobile suit itself...didn't feel like building the 0 Raiser for now, more on that later.  Mostly need the time to work on new projects such as MG Epyon, Tallgeese, and Nu ver. Ka.  However I am also starting my project for 2013 of creating a 3rd generation Freedom and Justice Gundam, and a 2nd gen Destiny Gundam as well!

First up is the new Freedom, called the Cosmic Freedom.  It will be mostly made up of the Nu Gundam, with pieces from the Hi-Nu, Freedom, and Strike Freedom incorporated into it.  2nd will be the Delta Justice, made from the Delta Plus with parts from both Justice suits as well as the Delta Kai.  Third will be the Neo Destiny Gundam, it will be made from the God Gundam and feature 2 equipment sets.  One will be similar to the original Destiny with wings and weapons, the second will be based on the Legend Gundam and have similar equipment.  Neo Destiny will be a two person mobile suit.

Amongst these I also intend to build my long fabled Ascalon Gundam and hopefully my kitbash of the Dynames/Cherudim/Zabanya suits!  With all these projects plus learning airbrushing and resin casting, 2013 looks to be a full year for me in the world of Gunpla :)

PG OO Raiser: Day 1

First day of work on the PG OO Gundam is over now, the head is done and I've started work torso, and I am currently at the painting of the pilot stage.  The head was an amazing build, I really enjoyed it, and surprisingly did not take as long as I had anticipated.  Now I put the seals on the inner head part, if you wanted the led to show through then you wouldn't use them.  The only problem with the led gimmick is that the green light shows through the red crest jewel on the forehead, and makes it not look as good, however that could probably be fixed with some paint and I may go back and do that once I finish the rest of the Gundam

Next Project...PG OO Raiser!

Now that the Age Strike is complete (and you can see it in the picture there), it's time to start another project, and in keeping with what seems to be my patterns, since I just finished a custom build it's time to do a straight build.  And this time it's going to be my Perfect Grade OO Raiser, a Christmas present from my wife last year, this will be my first PG model.  I'm pretty excited about this one, at this point I'm currently planning to just make the OO Gundam itself and then save to O Raiser for later but we'll see how I feel about it once the OO Gundam is compeleted.  Being a PG I'm not sure how long to expect it to take me, but if straight building a MG takes me 2 weeks to a month, then I'm expecting a good month solid here at least.  I've already started the head and hope to get most of the way finished with that tonight.  More to come later...Happy 4th!
